I just thought that since everyone was sharing their pics of their animals I'd share mine too. These are of my dog Coco. He still lives with my parents. "Just a leisurely stroll in the yard with enough time to take a picture" "It's been a long and hard day at work and all I wanna do is come home and put my feet up on the recliner" "Do I look like I want to go for a walk right now?" "ADT: Attack Dog Triumphant. Just try and get past me girly mon! GRRR!!" "Matt, you prick. You woke me up just so you could take another beautiful picture of me?! I don't know whether to be flattered or mad?"

Well, we just had some bad news yesterday. Coco died. He was around 12 or 13 years old. He hasn't been doing well lately. Sometime last year or the year before, he started going blind and last year he was totally blind, and then all the sudden he became pretty much completely deaf although if you yelled, he could still hear you some. He had been in quite a bit of pain or something this past month. Swollen glands and all that. He had been whimpering constantly for about 4 days in a row. Mom told me she went home yesterday and found him in the floor with his tongue hanging out and unresponsive to her when she petted him. She had to take him to the vet where they told her that he was dying and he needed to be put to sleep. I think they told her that he may have had a brain tumor, but they're not sure yet, I don't think anyway. From all the pain that I know that he had been going through, I know that he is in a much better place. Mom told me that they were going to have him cremated.
I remember when wew first got him. He was so frisky and wild. He would take it upon himself to find his way onto the couch while we were gone to school or work, and then when we caught him, he'd jump off the couch and roll over, knowing he'd been had. One of the funniest things I remember is the first time mom tried to feed him something either spicy or hot, I don't remember which. He snarled up his nose and made the funniest face and kept sneezing. It was so funny, so me being the person that I am would seize the opportunity to bug him as much as I could. I taught him how to sit, roll over, and to give me 5... with jellybeans if I remember correctly. Then when he'd beg for food, sometimes he'd do it out of instinct before we even said anything. He was so happy and playful. I'd tickle his feet and he'd kick and his leg would go into spasm kicks which was funny until he kept trying to bite me. Then I'd just tease him more. When I lived with my parents, he was my alarm clock. 6am he'd be laying at my door because I had it shut. Mom would wake up and get him all excited and then she'd open the door and he'd rush to my bed and bark to wake me up... right in my face. I don't think he ever jumped on my bed, but who needed a 60 pound dog jumping on the bed when his bark woul wake you up. I bet it was a 100 or more decibles. Through it all though, I loved him and he loved me. I missed him when I moved away but when I would go see my mom and dad, I'd always get in the floor and play with him either in the house or outside. I'm gonna miss him.

Yeah... all the fun that I had throughout the years was great. I forgot to mention that he also kept our house from being robbed. Us and our next door neighbors both had a dog and we'd leave them out in the back yard during the day time until one of us got home. Coco had a very loud and ferocious bark and was very intimidating when he did, although he wouldn't bite. Well my neighbor's dog wasn't as viscious looking, so they got into that house instead. When they were eventually caught they decided on the neighbors house because they went in the back yard of the house with the least viscious seeming of the dogs. Great dog! I had a dream about him last night. Me and Stephanie were at the grocery store and there he was just trotting up and down every aisle as to say "bye" to all the good food. I petted him and he licked me and then he walked off. When we got home, there he came up the driveway. My parents were there, so it was kinda like our house and their house. He came up to the door and put his paw on the door as to say hello and goodbye one last time. I think it was his spirit because his eyes were good and he could see, hear, and actually walk good... so I know things are going to be ok. We let him in but I don't remember what happened after that. I just know that it was all good.
